💛 Personality
Carlos is a noble, playful, and very obedient dog. He loves running, playing, and getting big warm hugs. One of his absolute favorite things? Belly rubs—he’ll melt in your hands when you scratch his tummy.
He has a balanced energy level, perfect for an active family who enjoys time outdoors. Though he was once the alpha of his territory, Carlos now shows a calm and loving side. When meeting other male dogs, he can be slightly territorial at first, but once introduced properly, he settles and socializes well.
He's especially good with kids—he loves playing and running alongside them. He also adores blankets, plush toys, and bones. While he’s kennel-trained, he gets a little fussy at bedtime—he’d much rather be near someone who gives him affection.
📖 Life Story
Carlos was a well-known community dog in downtown Rayón. Locals loved and fed him regularly, as he had a reputation for being a protector—he once even helped prevent a robbery at a local shop.
He spent his days hanging around the main kindergarten, chasing pigeons, and running alongside children during recess. He was the "alpha" of the center, which often led to fights with other street dogs.
One day, Carlos was found badly injured right outside the kindergarten. He was growling and clearly in pain. He had a severe ear infection that had spread down to his throat, and his ear had detached from the cartilage. He required emergency hospitalization, multiple cleanings, strong medication, and a long recovery process.
At first, Carlos was not happy. He was frustrated, growled, and bit when handled. He wasn’t used to confinement after a life of total freedom. He had to be wrapped up like a baby and muzzled for safe cleaning.
But slowly, with patience and love, Carlos realized we were just trying to help him. Eventually, he allowed himself to be treated without force or a muzzle. His heart healed along with his body.
Today, Carlos is healthy, neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready for a new chapter. He’s looking for a home where he’ll be loved not for what he’s survived, but for the amazing soul he is now.
