Lily has become a wonderful addition to our foster family. She is wonderful with my two children and is especially interested in my baby. She looks like the dog in All Dogs Go To Heaven but she behaves like the dog in Peter Pan. Lily likes to follow me around the house while I am going about my day. She is calm the majority of the time. Lily will bark, this often occurs when she sees a dog walk by the house or if she is alarmed by a noise outside. Her bark is quite deep and booming, much different sounding than my two small dogs. Lily is very friendly toward visitors at the house, she greets them with enthusiasm and a friendly wag. When people come over she can get excited and tries to jump up but will listen when firmly told to stay down. I think she is highly intelligent but does need to continue to work on her basic training. Lily can be a bit of a chewer. She has gotten ahold of some things that are not hers and has chewed them. Her new home would have to be sure to put things like remotes and kid's toys up high where she can't reach them. Lily has started to enjoy her walks, at first she was unsure of them. She will sniff quite a bit on her walks, she likes to keep a leisurely pace which can be appealing to some people. She does not react to dogs on her walks, but gets quite excited when she sees a squirrel. Lily is pretty good with my two small dogs but she has shown some signs of resource guarding with my male dog. This is something we are currently working on. Lily likes to go on furniture. For a former stray she seems comfortable and familiar with going onto couches and beds to relax. She has not shown any tendencies toward trying to escape the yard or to bolting when the door is open. Lily listens pretty consistently when told to come inside and also when she is corrected, her understanding of the English language is extremely good. I don't usually foster bigger dogs but she has been nice to have as a foster. She likes to come up for pets, gazing up at me with her soulful eyes. She makes anyone feel appreciated and loved. She loves her belly rubs and head scratches. I see her being a loyal companion and friend for someone and I know she deserves her forever home. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about her, I am constantly telling friends and family how great of a dog she is.
