🐾 Meet Barkside (aka “Beau”)
Barkside, lovingly known as Beau, is a sweet, sensitive soul with a forever-puppy expression and a heart that bonds deeply once he feels safe. He may be a little reserved at first, especially in new or busy environments, but give him time (and maybe a second meet-and-greet) and you’ll see his true personality shine. Once he’s comfortable, Beau is all about being close to his people and will happily follow you from room to room like a loyal little shadow.
Beau does well with other dogs and truly benefits from calm canine companionship, which helps build his confidence. He prefers slow, pressure-free introductions and dog friends who understand his boundaries. He walks beautifully on leash without pulling and enjoys getting out for sniffy strolls, though he does have a strong interest in rabbits while out and about.
At home, Beau can be left free and is not destructive, but kennelling alone is still a work in progress and can be stressful for him. He’s nearly house trained, though occasional marking may happen as he adjusts to a new routine. He would do best in a home where someone is around more often to help him continue settling into home life.
Beau has not had much exposure to children. Because he can be anxious in loud or busy situations, he would likely be most comfortable in a home with older, respectful kids. He has shown prey drive toward cats and would do best in a cat-free home.
