Meet Grazie — the mama dog with a big heart and an even bigger personality
Grazie arrived at BARC’s very pregnant and handled motherhood like a champ, raising six adorable puppies who are now ready for their own adventures. With her babies growing independent, it’s finally Grazie’s turn to move from being a devoted mom to becoming the cherished member of her very own family.
This sweet girl would love nothing more than to be the center of someone’s world. She’s all about cuddles, cozy nights, and having a person she can snuggle up with. Grazie isn’t quick to trust strangers, so her future family will need patience and understanding. But once she decides you’re safe and kind, she’ll pour every ounce of love she has into you.
Grazie gets along wonderfully with the resident dog in her foster home — even though the resident dog is three times her size — and the two enjoy frequent play sessions. She’s still working on her house training, so she’ll need a family willing to continue guiding her. Coming from sunny California, she’s not exactly thrilled about snow or cold weather, but she’s been appreciating the milder sunny days.
She has shown some resource guarding around food, so if she joins a home with another dog, she’ll need to be fed separately. As her puppies rely on her less, more of Grazie’s true personality is shining through — and she’s a hilarious little character. She proudly steals shoes without a hint of guilt, and she might just be one of the gassiest girls you’ll ever meet. The toots should settle down once she’s off puppy food, but if you’re looking for a dog to blame mysterious sounds on, she’s absolutely your girl.
