Tori is a sweet, fun little girl with the colouring of a pug but the face of a shepherd. When looking at her from the back, you’d have no idea she isn’t a full pug.
Tori is probably one of the smartest dogs I have ever worked with. She is extremely young but problem-solves like an adult dog. She knows how to assess a situation and figures things out quite quickly.
Tori isn’t shy about letting you know when she’s displeased with a situation (like being in the puppy pen too long) and will sing the song of her people. She does sleep through the night in the pen with her brother without issue. Tori loves following the bigger dogs in the house and enjoys being part of a pack. She takes correction well from the bigger dogs but can scare easily at times and will yelp.
Tori is bowl aggressive with both food and water. We are working on correcting this, and she has improved quite a bit since settling in. I have started feeding her and her brother side by side without issues, though I do need to correct both of them if they try to get into each other’s bowls. At this time, she cannot be free-fed, as the starving instinct is still there and she will try to overeat.
Tori has started learning what toys are and is showing interest in playing, especially with a ball. While she does have puppy energy, she isn’t excessively energetic and settles quickly. She LOVES to be picked up and cuddled and has been a great movie companion this Christmas with my granddaughter.
Tori has begun to really interact with humans instead of ignoring us. I guess she has realized we are the food givers! She doesn’t respond to her name yet, but basic commands like sit are almost mastered (next is “get out of the shoes!” lol). Tori will thrive in a home with someone committed to continuing her training and keeping her sharp little mind stimulated
