She's still learning this brand new world of belonging in a family, but somehow, despite being new to literally everything, she's already the best girl ever.
She is house trained and potty trained (no accidents here! 👏🏻), crate trained, and comfortable being home alone. She's picking up her basic commands super fast but will need some continued training. She doesn't bark inside, but she does take her job as home protector very seriously. If someone walks past the house, you might hear a few quiet grumbles just to let everyone know she's on duty.
Leash manners are a work in progress because the outside world is simply too interesting, every inch must be sniffed and investigated. Long walks are a must for this active girl. She's a curious explorer to her core, she loves to climb, jump, and crawl anywhere she can. She also loves a car ride. If there's an adventure to be had, she's in. She would do best in a home full of activity and new adventures.
She's learning fetch (emphasis on learning) and still figuring out what most toys are even supposed to do. Loud noises and chaotic, crowded places aren't really her thing, she just gets a little too excited and sometimes nervous. But she absolutely loves every dog and person she meets. She has only seen cats from afar but I think with proper introduction she would love them just as much too. She's working on calmer greetings and trying not to jump when she's thrilled to say hi (which is always). She loves kids but because of her excitement she will need a little guidance and continued training. She would do best with kids who can help remind her to keep all four paws on the floor.
At home, Strawberry Shortcake is a total cuddle bug. She begs for nightly cuddles on the couch. She believes she is small enough to be a lap dog, and will happily give face kisses if you allow it (even if you don't, she might try to sneak one). She's incredibly gentle, affectionate, and loving.
One look into her sweet soulful eyes, and you can see she knows she's already experiencing a whole new world, and she's so grateful for her second chance at life. She's truly such a good dog, and I know she will make the perfect addition to the right family. 💗🍓
