Butch is an English Bulldog mix, estimated to be around 2 years old, with a big heart and lots of love to give. He’s a total people‑dog and happiest when he’s close to his humans — whether that’s hanging out nearby or cuddling up on the couch with you.
He’s fully housebroken and does great on a routine, even though he doesn’t yet tell you when he needs to go out. At night, Butch sleeps through the night in his crate. He’s good with stairs and is surprisingly agile for a bulldog. His energy level is generally low to medium, with some fun bursts of playful, puppy‑like energy that continued training could easily help fine‑tune. He already knows the “sit” command.
Butch is not food‑aggressive and doesn’t beg. Unlike many bulldogs, he also doesn’t drool. On walks, he’s well‑mannered and doesn’t pull, and he’s very curious about the world around him. He loves playing in (and eating) the snow.
He is wrapping up treatment for an ear infection and a skin condition, both of which are now improving nicely. With other dogs, he’s shown polite curiosity — happily sniffing a neighbourhood dog with wagging tails and no growling — though he hasn’t been tested with multiple dogs yet. His experience with cats is unknown.
Butch has been great with our tween and teen children. He’s very friendly, but because he isn’t always aware of his size or strength, he could be intimidating for small children.
He forms strong bonds with his people and truly loves being nearby. He’s happiest with company and does best when he doesn’t have to be on his own for long periods.
Overall, Butch is a sweet, affectionate companion who’s ready to bring a lot of love into your home.
