Meet Colt.
Colt (otherwise known as Ollie) made his journey from Bakersfield, California on March 28, and it’s clear he’s no stranger to home life. This sweet boy has settled in beautifully and is already showing just how much he loves to love. Loyal to his core, Colt simply wants to be wherever you are - your shadow, your sidekick, your constant companion.
One of Colt’s absolute favorite things? Car rides. Whether it’s a quick coffee run or a longer adventure, he’s happiest just being included in your day. At his shorter stature, he’s more of a “short stroll” kind of guy (and is good on a leash), but appears to be a big fan. Truthfully, he loves being out-and-about, and would thrive with some outdoor space he could sun in, and sniff about/explore.
Colt gets along well with his foster dog siblings, though he does appreciate a bit of personal space. If another pup gets a little too close for comfort, he’ll give a grumble as in "hey dude, give me some space.” This is Colt communicating his boundaries.
He’s a big fan of toys and enjoys his downtime just as much as his playtime. We haven’t tested him with cats, and we think he’d do best in a home with dog-savvy kids (around 10–12+), who can understand and respect his space - though he's done well with his foster siblings, we can see him thriving as an only-pup.
Colt would thrive as a companion dog for someone who is home often, in a calm home with some routine - he truly just wants to be near his person/people. He’s not the biggest fan of smaller crates, but does okay in a larger wire crate. He may bark a little in protest at first (and he has quite the voice!), but he does settle with time. He sleeps soundly throughout the night - and LOVES a good snuggle session in bed.
We believe Colt may be a Corgi/Brittany Spaniel mix (but who knows!) - and trust us, his ears are absolutely to die for. After catching up on some well-deserved rest post-transport, his energy is slowly increasing, but he remains a low-to-mid energy pup overall.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will ride shotgun on life’s little adventures and be your biggest fan, Colt might just be your perfect match.
