Wesson the “chiweenie” mix… well, we aren’t exactly sure what mix he is, but he is a bundle of love. 💕
This little sausage is definitely a puppy and has all the chew toys he could possibly want — and chews and plays with them all.
As a tiny pup, Wesson has survived the streets of LA — so coming to a safe, warm home with “3 squares and a cot” 😂, life is looking pretty good now.
In 2 weeks, we have come so far, from a frightened little pup scared of his own shadow to:
Sleeps overnight in his crate with barely a peep
Waits patiently for his meals
Plays chase the stuffie and hoards them all
Found that the backyard is a perfect, safe playground and found his zoomies!
Goes potty outside like a champ (unless my foster gets too busy and doesn’t remind me — I’m just little!)
Has found his place with the resident dog and I think will be best friends real soon
Is finding his goofy, playful self — he loves loves loves playtime
Has an “alert” voice if there is anything suspicious outside
Snuggles, snuggles, and more snuggles — and would pretty much snuggle ALL the time if he could
Loyalty to his person is top of his list
Travels in the car without a peep!
But the work isn’t done. Wesson is just a babe, so of course there are areas a new family will still want to be working on:
That crate time during the day is a good time to catch a snooze, not a time to be worried
Showing Wesson that going on a walk is a fun idea, not a scary one. We now go around the whole block and back again!
There are good people in this world, and you can have a happy forever home with one (or more) of them
Other dogs can be your best furry friend, but it all takes time
Wesson would work well in a home that has the time and effort to keep reinforcing that he is safe — in a home with one or two adults and possibly older kids. He needs a family who has the patience to teach this little soul that the world is ok.
Older kids would be best, only because he’s still a puppy and a bit jumpy.
He has met all of our littles and was gentle, but a bit worried. Not mouthy at all. Just big smiles! 🐶
And boy oh boy — bring on the chew toys and stuffies! 🧸
