Pantera

Adopted

Description

Female, 9 years, Lab/shepherd X, 50 lbs

Pantera is a wonderful dog and is incredibly sweet and gentle. She is quite energetic for her age and loves regular walks and playing. While she wouldn't be a good candidate for hiking or running, she would a great fit for a family who could help her stay active as she gets older.

Pantera is usually friendly and playful with other dogs, and might enjoy having another dog in the house (we’re told previously lived with other dogs in Mexico). She has been living with a cat and is respectful of his space but still friendly. She would likely get along with a dog-savvy cat.

While she can be a little rambunctious when she gets back from walks, she is generally a huge couch potato at home (hence all the pictures of her on the couch!). She likes to be around people and LOVES attention and cuddles. Pantera is completely house-trained and is well-behaved and quiet - she has not barked once.

Pantera has been quite adaptable and has learned quickly, but she has absolutely no previous training or manners. She is sweet and very eager to please so this doesn’t pose much of an issue most of the time, but her new family would need to teach her basic commands.

At the moment, Pantera is fairly nervous around men. This could probably be worked on as she grows more confident and secure, but she is currently much more trusting and comfortable with women. She hasn’t been tested with young kids, but would likely be fine with older kids. She is also a picky eater and not food-motivated, and her adopter might need to try a few diet options to figure out what works for her.

As long as she has lots of walks, playtime and snuggles, Pantera would be a wonderful addition to almost any family!

Pantera is being fostered in Calgary.
