If you're looking for a big, lovable couch buddy with a heart as soft as his name, Butter might just be your perfect match!
At around a year old, Butter has already mastered the art of balancing puppy silliness with laid-back charm. Despite his size, he's a gentle giant who would much rather nap in his bed, chew on a favourite bone, or quietly entertain himself with a toy (or five!) than bounce off the walls. His energy level is surprisingly low, and he's happiest with a morning walk, an evening stroll, and a little playtime in between.
Butter is a dream houseguest. He's 100% house trained with no accidents and will politely whine at the door when he needs to go outside. He's also crate trained and settles quickly when left alone, making hardly a peep. In fact, Butter isn't much of a barker at all, even when other dogs are making a fuss.
This sweet boy loves people and enjoys meeting other dogs. He's friendly, social, and always ready to make a new friend. We're currently working on his leash manners, as he can be a little enthusiastic at the start of a walk and still thinks every person he sees should stop to say hello. Thankfully, he's eager to learn and has already picked up several commands, including sit, shake a paw, wait, and no. He's also learning boundaries quickly and has made wonderful progress in his foster home.
When Butter gets excited, he sometimes likes to give hugs, but he's easily redirected with a toy and is always happy to trade cuddles for playtime.
Butter is currently living successfully with both a small female dog and a large male dog. While he gets along well with other dogs, he tends to be a bit more dominant and would likely thrive with a confident female canine companion.
Whether he's lounging in his bed, enjoying a tasty treat, or soaking up affection from his favourite humans, Butter's goal in life is simple: be close to his people and enjoy all the love they have to offer.
