If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Pony may be your perfect match.
Pony is the definition of a velcro dog. Sweet, calm, and incredibly well-mannered, she loves being near her people and is happiest when she can follow you from room to room. While she is both house trained and crate trained, she'd much prefer to spend her nights close to her humans. She settles nicely in her crate, but if given the choice, she'd happily snooze in the bedroom and sleep the night away.
This beautiful girl has impeccable manners out in the world. Pony greets both people and dogs politely, with no jumping or barking. If another dog wants to play, she's happy to join in. If not, she respectfully carries on with her walk. She walks beautifully on leash, shows no reactivity, and has very little prey drive. She's more curious about rabbits and birds than anything else, although she might be tempted to encourage a few ducks into the pond if given the opportunity! 😄
Pony has not yet met cats or children, but she has calmly observed children playing at parks and schools and appears very comfortable around them. Due to her tall stature, she may be best suited to a home with older children.
One thing Pony would love most is a family that is home often. Whether retired or working from home, her ideal people would enjoy having a devoted shadow nearby throughout the day. She is calm when left alone and typically spends that time sleeping, but she truly thrives on companionship.
Pony is just beginning to discover the joy of toys and playtime. Because of this, she may enjoy having another friendly dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She currently lives peacefully with other dogs and has wonderful canine manners.
Like many clever dogs, Pony has discovered that countertops can sometimes hold tasty treasures. Her future family will need to keep food put away and counters crumb-free unless they're planning on sharing! 😉
Pony absolutely adores being groomed. She loves being brushed, did wonderfully at the pet store bath station, and even enjoys having her teeth cleaned. Because she arrived with severe matting that required shaving in several areas, her future family should be prepared for the grooming needs that come with her beautiful coat and commit to regular brushing and maintenance.
Her tummy troubles have completely settled, and she's currently thriving on a simple duck-and-potato diet that she loves so much she eats from a slow feeder. Despite having noisy canine neighbours all around her, Pony is remarkably quiet and rarely makes a sound.
Everyone who meets Pony comments on how beautiful, calm, and well-behaved she is. She has a gentle soul, a loving heart, and so much devotion to give. For the lucky family who welcomes her home, Pony will be an unwavering best friend and faithful companion. ❤️
