Lenny is the happiest, calmest boy. He loves being with his people and will eagerly flop on his back and spread it for belly rubs with no notice.
He is a little clumsy which is entertaining and adorable at the same time, when he bumps into things (or you) he gives a goofy look and then acts like it was intentional.
He has been great going for walks around the neighbourhood and is always happy to get scratches from fellow walkers or neighbours. Everyone we meet falls in love with his adorable face and gentle nature.
He is definitely learning that his crate is a safe place. He is happy relaxing in there beside his foster mom while she works, when left alone he has some initial anxiety but usually calms after 10-15 minutes and is happy to see us when we come home. He doesn’t like being left in the crate if he knows you are home but he can’t see you.
He has been sleeping in our bedroom at night with his foster brother and sleeps through the night. He definitely needs to be let out first thing (maybe while you make your coffee) and then he will go back and rest happily while you get ready for the day. He enjoys supervising this and everything you allow him to.
Lenny and his foster brother have become the best of buds, they love playing tug, wrestling, laying together, exchanging kisses and just being together. Lenny also loves cuddles with his foster mom and dad and just being near them. He has been great at playing gently with his foster dad on the ground rolling around. His foster mom often has Lenny using her foot as a pillow and the resident lab resting his head on the other one.
We are working with Lenny on staying out of the kitchen while we’re cooking, we live in an open concept home, and not begging when we are eating, he is slowly improving. His foster mom thinks it is less related to the food and more that he just wants to be close to his people.
We think Lenny will do best in a home with a large dog who enjoys playing, he has been really good at submitting and listening when our resident dog tells him the play is getting a little rough.
We don’t think he will be suited for a home with small animals as he has a tendency to chase and show some aggression.
Overall Lenny is a delight to be around and we hope he finds the perfect family to call his own.
