Meet Queen Maeve, a charming Husky mix with a personality as big as her heart. Dubbed "Queen" by her vet staff, Maeve is a gentle, sweet soul who has fully embraced her inner diva. While she required some intensive care when she first arrived, she is an extremely brave girl who is getting better each day.
Maeve is house-trained and is very respectful of boundaries. Maeve is a true night owl who snacks during the day but prefers to eat at night. Since she understands the house rules, she is trusted to free-roam overnight, although she might bring you a squeaky toy at 3 a.m. She has very polite house manners and waits for an invitation before joining you on the couch. While Maeve enjoys the company of her people, she tends to rotate between rooms, always scouting out the best spot (under an AC vent to stay cool) and bringing her many toys with her. Her only demand is that you pay the belly rub tax if you enter or exit the room she is in.
As Maeve had round-the-clock care at first, she hasn't had much of a chance to practice being alone in her foster home. This is something she is working on, and her highness is easily tempted with peanut butter, so she is making good progress.
Maeve is a vocal girl who loves to chat when she is excited, especially if you're taking too long to get ready for a walk! Maeve is great on a leash. She knows when to turn it on for a long mountain hike or just enjoy a gentle stroll. Though she can be easily distracted by the occasional squirrel or bunny, she is improving with every walk.
Maeve enjoys saying hi to other dogs she meets but generally prefers the company of her humans. Maeve would likely thrive as an only dog or with a dog who respects her royal need for downtime.
