Meet Nahanni! A Sweet Little Girl With So Much Love to Give! 🐾❤️
Nahanni is a sweet, affectionate, loyal, and playful little girl with so much love to give! Her absolute favourite place is in your arms. She loves being carried, cuddling, and spending time with her favourite people. At foster home, Nahanni is a happy, playful girl who loves chasing the resident dog, playing tug-of-war, and enjoying her toys. She is equally happy curling up beside you to watch TV. She loves her food and treats, is not food-aggressive, and is very food-motivated.
Nahanni gets along wonderfully with the resident dog and pays very little attention to the household cats. She enjoys having a dog companion, but she also loves attention from her people. I believe she could be happy with another friendly dog or as the only dog in the home.
She currently lives with children but prefers a quieter environment. When things become too busy or noisy, she will find somewhere safe to retreat. A home with adults or older, respectful children would suit her best. Nahanni has wonderful leash manners, travels very well in the car, and is already showing improvement in her confidence during neighbourhood walks.
Nahanni can be shy and nervous around unfamiliar people and dogs. When visitors first enter the home, she may bark, seek comfort from someone she trusts, or hide in a quiet spot. Given time, she may come around and approach visitors on her own, although sometimes she prefers to stay hidden. She has not shown any nipping behaviour and simply needs patience, space, and reassurance to feel safe.
A Few Things About Nahanni:
Dogs: Loves familiar dogs but needs gentle introductions to unfamiliar ones.
Leash Manners: Very good.
House Training: Work in progress; uses pee pads and also goes outside.
Crate: Does well while her people are at work.
Car Rides: Travels very well.
Favourite Things: Being carried, cuddles, toys, treats, and playing with her dog friend.
Nahanni would thrive in a patient, loving home that understands she needs time to build trust and confidence. She would enjoy a friendly dog companion but could also be perfectly happy receiving all the love and attention herself. She has already made wonderful progress, and it is lovely watching more of her playful, affectionate personality come out each day.
Nahanni truly is a little sweetheart. She just needs a family who will love her, respect her boundaries, and let her blossom at her own pace. Whoever gives this special girl a chance will gain a wonderful little companion. ❤️🐾
