Meet Vulcan! He is a handsome, sweet and loyal little guy. He was friendly with us right from the start and has grown into a little home guardian! He likes to let us know when people pass by with a bark and may take a little time to warm up to visitors, but he’s just looking out for his foster home.
He gets along well with my two female dogs, though he can be a little dominant and has even challenged my senior Chihuahua, who is usually the top dog in the household. Any introductions to dogs in his potential adoptive home should be slow and carefully managed. He’s a playful guy who loves romping around with my puppy, but he also appreciates his downtime! He enjoys curling up on someone’s lap for a cozy nap, and when his puppy pal gets a little too enthusiastic, he’ll sometimes sneak behind the couch cushions for some peace and quiet.
Vulcan is making great progress with house training and does well when given frequent opportunities to go outside. He also settles into his kennel without any fuss! He can get a little mouthy with adults during play but responds well to a firm “no.” He has never shown this behaviour to my children and enjoys spending time around my toddler. However, because of his mouthiness during play, Vulcan would likely be best suited to a home with older children or adults only.
Vulcan has made wonderful progress with his leash skills! When he first arrived, he wasn’t interested in walking at all, but now he’s eager to get out and happily keeps up on walks. He’s a quick learner, and with continued training and consistency, I’m confident he’ll keep blossoming! Vulcan has been a lovely guest in our home, with an adorable face that almost always looks like he’s smiling. He loves his chews, toys, and cuddles, and I know he’ll grow into a loyal companion for a lucky family.
