Meet Trochu! He is very affectionate, loves his people and is always ready for a snuggle on the couch. He is like a little shadow, he follows me around everywhere in the house and LOVES to sit close by when I cook, hoping to catch some fallen crumbs. His favourite treat is chicken hearts and cheese. He has already learned the sound of the fridge door opening and has learned the sound of a treat bag opening.

He is currently learning basic commands like sit. He has already learned how to go washroom outside and is able to hold his bladder all night. Trochu is also ok with being alone, but only for a max of 4hours, otherwise he becomes anxious and stressed (pacing, jumping on the counter, getting into shelves, and scratching the door). Trochu is a pretty quiet dog, he does not whine or bark when left alone. Although he does have the occasional nightmare where he starts twitching and whining in his sleep.

Trochu would do best in a home without other animals, this includes dogs, cats, birds, or rodents. He has a very strong prey drive and will go after things like squirrels or pigeons. He has been tested with dogs and cats, and he has made it clear that he is not a fan of either.

Trochu can take a little time to warm up to some people, while others are met with his friendly, outgoing personality right away. Treats are a great way to win him over! Let him approach you at his own pace, avoid picking him up or petting his head, and give him time to settle in beside you. When he sits next to you, that’s his way of showing he’s starting to feel comfortable. On walks, Trochu can react by growling and lunging when runners or cyclists pass, so he’ll need a patient handler who can help him navigate these situations safely. Once he trusts you, Trochu’s sweet side really shines through - he’s an easygoing, loving boy who adores cuddles and companionship

So far, we have been able to bathe him, cut his nails, and clean his ears without any issues. Trochu walks well on leash and enjoys going out for walks. He also does well in the car, he just sleeps or looks out the window, but he is not a fan of the windshield wipers. Trochu has not yet been tested with young kids, so we are unsure how he would react.
