Norton as landed all the way from California and is ready to start his next chapter here in Canada! 🇨🇦 This sweet boy is looking for his forever family, and if you’re looking for a loving little shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Norton might just be your guy.
Norton is a big love bug who bonds quickly with his people. He loves snuggles, belly rubs, and being close to the humans he loves. He seems to have lived in a home before and already knows how to sit. He’s been doing well with house training in his foster home, with minimal accidents so far.
He’s friendly, seems to do well with children, including older kids, and is interested in other dogs. He may be a good match for a home with another small, dog-friendly pup. He hasn’t been tested with cats yet, so we don’t know how he would do with feline friends.
Norton is a medium-to-lower-energy kind of guy. He isn’t looking for a marathon training partner or a jam-packed social calendar. He’d much rather enjoy the simple things in life: being near his people, getting some affection, sharing a cozy spot on the couch, and knowing he belongs.
Norton’s biggest wish is to be with his people. He does seem to struggle with separation distress when he can’t see you, barking, crying, and becoming upset when separated. His current foster mom has to leave him behind when she goes to work, which has been difficult for him. Because of this, Norton would likely thrive with someone who works from home, is home much of the day, or can otherwise provide the time and support he needs while he gradually learns that being alone can be safe.
He bonds quickly and has so much love to give. With patience, understanding, and a family willing to help him build confidence and feel secure, Norton has the potential to blossom.
