Meet Darla, AKA Chai ☕
With her gorgeous fall colors, Chai looks like she was made for sweater weather, crunchy leaves and cozy evenings on the couch.
Chai isn’t quite a plug-and-play pup just yet. She’s still a little shy while she figures out this whole new world, but don’t underestimate her.
This girl is brave, and every day a little more of her personality shines through.
🚗 Road trips? She’s an excellent passenger, although she still appreciates a little boost getting into the car.
🛁 Baths? Not exactly her idea of a spa day, but the big fluffy towel rub-down afterward gets two paws up!
🍗 Food? YES. Treats? Also yes. Bananas? Apparently Chai has standards. 🍌🚫
🥰 Cuddles? Absolutely. She’s a sweet little snuggle bug.
😴 Sleeping style? On her back, legs sprawled everywhere, dignity completely optional.
🌙 Bedtime? This girl takes her beauty sleep seriously. By about 8 p.m., it’s LIGHTS OUT!
She’s excellent on walks and generally walks beautifully, although squirrels and rabbits may temporarily activate the turbo setting. 🐿️💨
Chai already knows “sit” and is working on adding more commands to her résumé.
Her biggest work-in-progress is learning that when her human leaves the house, they really do come back.
She is working through some separation anxiety and will need a patient adopter willing to help her build confidence and feel secure.
Chai may not arrive as a ready-made dog, but that’s part of what makes her extra special.
She’s more of a slow-brew Chai. ☕
Give her a little time, patience and love, and you'll get to watch one very special girl blossom.
