Male, 3 years, terrier X, 20 lbs

Rocco will need a very patient family so he can become a great dog.

He is very timid, scared & has trust issues. He is not used to living in a house, so everything is quite new & scary. He is afraid of new people & will hide when they come in. He will bark at doorbell. He will bark & growl at males. If they walk towards him, he will just cower or walk away. If they try to touch him, he shows no aggression. My son can pick him up. He shows no aggression with food or toys.

He is good in his kennel & settles easily. If you take him outside, he never messes in the house. Once he gets to know you better his mannerisms will tell you he has to go out. He has no separation anxiety.

He eventually will show you his sweet side. He loves to sit & cuddle on the couch. He gives kisses. He loves attention & will tap you with his paw to pay attention to him.

He will need to gain trust to learn how to walk on a leash.

He has some tummy problems since he has arrived but now, he is doing well on his new dog food. He loves to eat.

He would do best in a house where someone is home most of the time and a house that is calm and quieter. A house where children are 12 or older would be ideal. A fenced yard is best. I think another dog would help him settle down easier.

Rocco just needs some time, love & patience so he can become a wonderful pet.

Rocco is being fostered in Calgary.
