Adopted
Description
Female, 1 year, Lab X, 32 lbs
Izzy is the sweetest little nugget. She looks like a big dog, but in a small-ish package! She has a lot of love to give behind those light brown eyes, and an amazing personality. Her favorite place for pets and scratches is her chest and tummy and loves to snuggle next to you on the couch. She bonds quick to her humans; she needs someone to help her feel safe. She is starting to explore on her own but feels safer when someone is with her. Izzy is very quiet, she never barks or whines so she would be great in any home/apartment.
Izzy is just starting to learn basic commands; she will sit if coaxed with a treat. It seems she has never had any basic training, which might seem surprising with how well behaved she is! Although not super treat motivated, she is very praise motivated. She loves getting words of affirmation and loves hearing "YES!" and "Good Girl!". Izzy is starting to love walks, she is still a tiny bit nervous around other dogs but once introduced slowly and calmy she wants to PLAY! She is completely house trained and uses the bathroom outside without any accidents now.
She is still learning how to play; she has started to play with her toys but she doesn't like the squeaker...so quiet toys are best!
Izzy is great in the car; she loves hanging her head out the window and taking in all the smells. Currently, she goes with her foster mom to work with her every day!
She would be great in a home with a backyard or private balcony, with older kids (10+) and with a dog that is calm but still loves to play. Izzy needs to be in a home with a dog to show her how to be a dog! She would also be better with a household where someone worked from home or could bring her to an office. She doesn't like to be left alone, but she might be better left alone if there is another dog in the house.
Izzy is being fostered in Calgary.
