Male, 8 months, heeler X, 20 lbs

Since being in our home Gizmo has gone from a very afraid dog to a sweet joy to his foster family, but he is a work in progress as he still has major fear when it comes to strangers and kids and unfamiliar outside noises in general. He has come a long way and he tries to be brave and is doing better every day, but it will take some time and patience for this sweet boy to overcome all his fears. Due to this, a home without young kids would be best for him, and a place where he will have someone home with him all day who will have lots of patience and time to put in the work with him to show him the world is a big beautiful place to explore. He is an eager learner and has lots of puppy energy and loves his bully sticks! He has not been around cats or other dogs yet, so we’re not sure how he would be with them. He has shown no aggression at all but just is very wary of new people and new environments but is very treat oriented. He would do best in a home where he can run out his puppy energy and be kept active and engaged.
