Male, 10 to 11 years, chihuahua X, 21 lbs

Hi! I’m Fatty Arbuckle - also known as “Freddie” or “Mr. A”.

I’m a cute, calm and very content old chap. I like to have gloriously long naps in my cozy blanket and hang out close to my people all day! I get a bit of anxiety being alone, so I’d love to live with someone who is home often. I really enjoy head, belly and butt scratches and do a cute little cat stretch when I get them. I can be a bit timid at first, but I get over it pretty quick!

I’m not really into going for walks so I’m happy to hang around close to home. The odd zoom around the yard and I’m happy to call it a day. Maybe with some more patience and gentle guidance, I’d learn how fun it is to walk on my leash! The kids I live with like to pull me in their wagon, and I think it’s super fun. Did I mention, I do very well in the car and I’m more than happy to sit shotgun on our road trips.

Having lived with multiple dogs in my past, I love to be around other dogs. I currently live with an 8 month old puppy who wants to play alllll the time, so I think I’d prefer a brother or sister pup who is a little more chill. I haven’t been tested with cats, but I’m sure I’d love them. I also live with two toddlers, I don’t mind them at all and just let them do their own thing. I have a wonderful temperament and only bark when I hear the doorbell ring. The only other time you’ll hear me make a small peep, is when I want you to pick me up and take me up or down the stairs. See my last home didn’t have any stairs and I’m just not too sure about them! One step is fine, but I’m working on my confidence to try more. Once I’m outside I’ll do my business. I’ve had a couple of accidents inside but now that I know I need to whine at the door, I haven’t had any since.

I’ve lived through a lot in my past, but you’d never know it. My heart is so big - all I want to do is love my person and enjoy my retirement with someone who wants a true, loyal companionship. If you are looking for a kind, old soul who loves people- I’d love to meet you!
