Flora

Adopted

Description

Female, 1 year, shepherd X, 42 lbs

Hi there, my name is Flora. My foster family is blown away at how quickly I settled into life here in Canada. They tell me how smart I am because of all the things I've learned so far. I know how to sit and stay. I figured out how to go up and down stairs (they were really confusing when I first moved in, but now I'm a pro). I know how to ring bells when I want to go outside. I also respond to my name and I understand the word no. I know that when my foster family is eating at the table, mooching isn't allowed and I have a spot to stay in until it's my turn to eat. I am good with my foster kids. They love to give me hugs and kisses and throw the ball for me. I love playing fetch.

My day starts with doing laps around the yard. They tell me I look like a pony frolicking around. Then we go for a nice walk or play fetch to burn off some of my energy. After all that hard work I take a nice long nap to recharge. When it's nice out I like to lay outside in the sun and watch the birds. I have zero interest in chasing them. I just like listening to them chirp. I would spend all day outside if I could.

I haven't been around cats but I don't react to dogs on walks or my dog neighbour who woofs at me. I'm good on a leash. I get excited for walks so I might pull a little at the start but then I settle and walk nice.

My foster mom says I have perfected puppy dog eyes when I want some love and cuddles. It's hard to resist.

At night I sleep in my kennel. I can cry a little but I settle down really quick.

I would love to find an active family that has a nice yard for me to run in or who enjoy the outdoors. The perfect family would be willing to teach me more basic commands (I'm almost there - I learn fast). I would make an amazing family dog.

Flora is being fostered in Calgary.
