Little Missy was renamed Missy because it’s short for “mischievous!” This girl is still very much a puppy and is still learning how to test the limits of her caregivers and see what she can get away with! She loves paper...socks, shoes and has figured out how to now jump on the coffee table. Patience and experience with a sense of humour is important for Missy’s new owner. She loves to play, and her favorite toys are whatever makes a racket! She loves plastic milk bottles, and she is treat and food motivated. She is a very smart dog, but she will test you. She loves the snow and thinks she is a deer and so she needs a back yard that is secure. If there is something she can jump up on...she will clear the fence. She is the queen of cuddles and is now wanting under the covers at bedtime. With our weather she hasn't had an opportunity to meet other puppies or children, but I think if her space is respected, she'd be ok. She should not be left alone, and it is recommended she is crated when her owner leaves the house. She will fight you on going in kennel a bit, but if you toss a treat in, she's good. She does bark if someone walks a dog by the house and she sees it. When people come over to the house, I put her on a short leash attached to my banister and tell company to ignore her...after 2 to 3 minutes I let her off and let her figure it out. She is pee pad trained and does do her business outside, but with our cold weather lately, she will need a bit more work with this. She does sleep the whole night, from around 9 pm to 9 am. She wakes you up with kisses and if you don’t get up, she gets more persistent. Missy will bolt if given the chance, but she does respond with treats. She is good with the leash but is still learning it. She's discovered rabbits and needs to be distracted with other dogs on walks.
