This stunning boy is Apache, known to us as Pachay, Chi, Smiley dog or Mr Wigglebottom!

His behaviour in the house is fantastic, fully housetrained, doesn’t counter surf or snag food left in his reach, non destructive. He sits and waits until told it’s ok to eat his food, takes treats very politely and gentle and doesn’t barge past you on the stairs. Uses his kennel as his chill out space and likes to have his treats in there too.

He sits while you prepare him for outings and doesn’t pull as you leave the house, loves car rides and enjoys very long walks.

He is very loving almost to the point of being a little needy of affection, he will follow from room to room, but really enjoys a cuddle on the couch.

Apache does have a couple of issues that are being worked on, these are as follows.

He seems to get over stimulated/overwhelmed when out in busy places where there are lots of humans with their dogs, will bark and jump around and loses his concentration, it can take a couple of minutes to calm him (a gentle leader or Halti has been added during walks and has made quite a difference). For these reasons we tend to give him walks where there are not too many distractions.

His recall is excellent in a fully fenced environment. We have been using a ‘private’ off leash area where he can get some running and zoomies. He has responded well to recall in this situation, the treat he enjoys best is croutons!

He hasn’t been tested with dogs, cats or small children but has been to areas where there are plenty of squirrels and hasn’t been bothered by them.

Apache has made us smile and laugh every day he has been with us and is quite a character!
