Are you looking for a tiny, sweet shadow who loves to give kisses and cuddle? You may be in luck! Meet Kit Kat:
• She LOVES to cuddle and be with her person. Once she feels more comfortable, she will ask for belly rubs all of the time. She loves affection and giving kisses.
• Currently ~6lbs and underweight - a good feeding schedule with some rich, dog-friendly foods will help. She is not food motivated and doesn’t care for treats (at this time).
• Such a sweet young lady - she doesn’t bark at all and doesn’t make much noise. I have heard her cry once when leaving the house. She would do well with someone who is home all of the time as she gets so attached.
• She does not like being in her crate and will paw at the door. Although she doesn’t bark or whine, she has hurt her nose several times trying to get out…she would do best in a home where she can roam freely.
• She loves to make a cozy little nest bed and be near you at night - she has been sleeping on the bed as she refuses to sleep on her own bed or inside a crate. Did I mention she loves to be near her person?
• Submissive personality.
• If she could have her way, she’d happily snuggle up on the couch for the entire day in some cozy blankets and sleep - she is very low energy.
• Has not been tested with cats.
• Would do well in a calm, quiet home with one or two adults - it would be best if there were no children as she is quite timid and loud noises and sudden movements startle her.
• I have two other dogs and she seems to be the most comfortable when they are not around - if there was a small, respectful, calm dog, she would do okay, but would do well on her own.
• She is unsure what to do outside as she didn’t grow up having access to the outdoors. It would be best if she had a secure yard, but not a dealbreaker. She would need to be double leashed outdoors as she may hide/cower in a corner or try to run. Her owner will need to go out into the yard with her. She has not had a walk outdoors since arriving to Canada as it was too overwhelming.
• She had a few accidents in the house upon arrival but has been doing so well going on peepads in the same room to relieve herself. Her new home will need to be patient with her as they transition to an outdoor bathroom area. With that said, it may not happen and her new owners will need to be okay with her using peepads indoors.
• She does need to get up in the middle of the night for a bathroom break at this time - she also likes to have a midnight snack and will lick her food bowl or your hand when she’s
hungry.
Overall, Kit Kat’s new owner will be so luck to have a sweet pup in their life - she will make a great companion and snuggle buddy, she just needs a patient loving person to help her become the best dog she can be.
