Emma is a very sweet and loving dog who absolutely adores cuddles and pets! She plays extremely well with other dogs and gets along with all of them.

She gets really excited when you're getting her food but if you tell her to get down, she will listen and asking her to sit before she gets her food works well with her. She still needs help understanding the importance of recall – she will acknowledge the command, but if what she is doing is too enticing, she has not yet learned to come right away. Training and consistent work with rewards will do wonders for this.

Once Emma is more comfortable with her new surroundings, she can be quite vocal, but she has had a hard life and likely has some confidence issues. With love and direction Emma can learn how to communicate, and she will become an amazing companion.

She has already learned how to walk on leash without pulling, which is incredible! She is very agile though, and can jump quite high. Kenneling her would be ideal vs keeping her behind a gate within your home, as she might not see the gate as a deterrent if she wants to investigate elsewhere.

Emma loves to play with puppies and small dogs! Her play style might be a little too rough for some dogs though so she could use some guidance and encouragement in learning to be gentle when that is what the other dog is comfortable with.

Before coming to Paw Butler, Emma spent a year at a training facility in the Yukon where she learned a lot about adjusting to life in a family situation. She has interacted with children and adults and does not appear to have any reactivity (other than being excited to meet you). She loves other dogs and would be well suited to a multi-dog home.
