Description

Male, 4 years, Alaskan Malamute X, 73 lbs

Came in as an owner surrender. The dog is at the front of the kennel with its tail wagging and barks when excited. This dog is pushing at the door and somewhat difficult to leash. He will need leash training; he pulls and jumps around when walking. During back stroking the dog moves away from you. Between and after strokes he moves away. During head pat the dog moves away. Between and after pats he moves away. His overall personality is excited, over stimulated and aloof. Able to examine teeth with mild struggle each time. During and after hug, he struggles. He is aroused, plays rough, slow to calm and gets mouthy. During food test, he shows no interest. He knows sit and shake. He was not tested with cats. When meeting with another dog of same size he appears happy, wants to play. We recommend dog to dog due to his large size and rough play style. He may not be good in a home with small children due to his high energy and rough play. He will do best with a person who has experience with this breed.

PLEASE NOTE
This dog has just arrived in care and is currently unavailable for adoption. It will go into foster care for 1 week so we can get to know their personalities better. After the first week, we will post their adoption biographies and review adoption applications or announce that the foster provider has adopted them. At that time, if you would like to be considered in the event they are accepting applications, please fill out an adoption application.

Arrived from California January 10.

Adoption costs: $495.00
